St Mary police probing teenager's murder
The St Mary police are investigating the shooting death of 17-year-old Raheem 'Murder' Smith at a shop in Annotto Bay in the parish on Tuesday.
Smith is of a Crooked River address in Annotto Bay.
According to a police report, at approximately 10:20 p.m. on Tuesday, two armed men approached a group of young men playing dominoes at a shop and requested a phone call, which was not granted.
"It is alleged that the men then opened gunfire, hitting Smith in the upper body and escaped in a waiting vehicle," said Superintendent Anthony Wallace, Commanding officer for the St Mary Police Division.
"The police were summoned, and upon their arrival they found Smith lying in a pool of blood. Smith was rushed to the Annotto Bay Hospital where he was pronounced dead," he added.
In the meantime, Wallace is appealing to anyone who might be able to provide the police with information that could assist in the investigation to contact the police at 876-333-9530 or 876-994-4223, Crime Stop at 311, or the nearest police station.
