Police Corporal killed in Linstead crash

A policeman attached to the St Catherine North division has succumbed to injuries sustained in a vehicular crash along the Linstead Bypass in the parish on Wednesday night.
He has been identified as Corporal Navado English of the Spanish Town Police Station.
Reports are that about 11:10 p.m., English was driving his private motor car along the roadway when it collided with another vehicle.
His vehicle was extensively damaged and English, who suffered severe injuries, was taken to the Linstead Hospital.
He died while undergoing treatment at the facility.
Head of the St Catherine North Division, Senior Superintendent of Police, Hopton Nicholson, said that the division is shaken by the death of the sub-officer.
"He was a diligent and dedicated member who was willing to get the job done. The division mourns his passing and is deeply saddened by his untimely death. We are sending sincere condolences to the family and loved ones at this time," SSP Nicholson said.
The St Catherine North Traffic Department is conducting an investigation of the crash.
