Man shot dead on Christmas Day in Denham Town

The Denham Town police are investigating the murder of a man who was shot and killed in the area on Christmas Day.
The deceased has been identified as Ricardo Ellis, 41, otherwise called 'Boyah' and 'Bozza,' of North Street, Kingston 14.
According to reports, around 8 a.m., Ellis was standing in front of his business establishment at the Wellington and Nelson Street intersection when two men on a motorcycle, armed with guns, opened fire. He was reportedly struck multiple times in the upper body.
Police say the attackers escaped the area. Ellis was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead.
The Kingston West Police Division has recorded a 43 per cent reduction in murders as of December 20, with 32 murders in 2025 compared to 56 during the similar period in 2025.
Nationally, Jamaica’s murder toll stood at 649 up to December 20, representing a 43 per cent reduction when compared with the corresponding period last year.
