Police probe Christmas Day double murder in Spanish Town

An investigation has been launched by the St Catherine Police Division following a double murder along March Pen Road in Spanish Town on Christmas Day.

The victims have been identified as 30-year-old bar operator Shaniel Myers and 28-year-old chef Shamar Hall, both from March Pen Road.

About 5:40 p.m. Myers and Hall were among a group of people at a section of March Road when several armed men, wielding rifles and handguns, entered the area and opened fire.

Hall reportedly collapsed at the scene, while Myers ran to a nearby premises before falling.

Both Myers and hall were transported to the Spanish Town Hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

The gunmen escaped.

The killings mark the second double murder in the March Pen Road community within a month.

The Major Investigation Division, along with the Spanish Town police, is investigating.
