Man reportedly of unsound mind shot after allegedly attacking police in Manchester

The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) has launched an enquiry into a police-involved shooting that injured a man said to be of unsound mind at a market in Mandeville, Manchester on Saturday.
It's reported that around 10:45 a.m., police officers were on Manchester Road near the market when the man allegedly attacked the team and attempted to disarm a member.
The police reportedly fired at the individual, who was subsequently taken to the Mandeville Regional Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
INDECOM said it has begun a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Authorities have not released further details about the man’s condition.
