Business strategist Deveta McLaren has been appointed acting regional director of the Western Regional Health Authority (WRHA), the government body that oversees public health services in Westmoreland, St James, Hanover, and Trelawny.

The appointment took effect on March 2, said WRHA chairman Eric Clarke in a statement from the Ministry of Health and Wellness on Wednesday.

"McLaren is a results-driven management professional with 30 years of experience spanning sales, marketing, strategic planning, revenue generation, business restructuring, and project management," the statement said. "Her decades-long track record is one of excellent organisational and people management skills"

McLaren replaces St Andrade Sinclair, who has been assigned as Project Lead for the Health Infrastructure Maintenance Fund at the ministry.

In his new role, Sinclair is to provide strategic oversight of the Maintenance and Resilience Fund, which supports investments in biomedical equipment and health infrastructure to protect service continuity and patient safety.
