Immigration Corner | How to change eVisa details while outside of the UK

Dear Mr. Bassie,
I would like to know if I have dual nationality whether I am able to add this to my UKVI account. Also, can I amend my passport details when I am outside of the UK. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
H.J.
Dear H.J.
Persons who have more than one nationality should make sure that they add the passport that they will use to travel to their United Kingdom Visa and Immigration UKVI account. Please note that persons can add more than one passport.
If one of the nationalities is British or Irish, those persons do not need an eVisa. Persons must travel with their British or Irish passport or a passport with a certificate of entitlement. Those persons should read the guidance for British or Irish dual citizens.
IF PASSPORT OR PERSONAL DETAILS CHANGE WHEN OUTSIDE OF THE UK
Persons will either need to update their UKVI account or apply for a temporary visa to return to the United Kingdom (UK). Whether they can update their UKVI account while they are out of the UK will depend on what details have changed and if they have a biometric passport.
To return to the UK persons may need to apply for a temporary visa and they will be able to update their UKVI account once they are in the UK. Please be aware that if they have settled or pre-settled status under the EU Settlement Scheme, they may have to apply for a travel permit instead.
A BIOMETRIC PASSPORT
Persons who have a biometric passport may update their passport details (passport number and expiry date), name and/or nationality. If any other personal details have changed, they will need to apply for a temporary visa to return to the UK.
Those persons who do not have a biometric passport can only update their passport details,, that is their passport number and expiry date only. If any other personal details have changed, they will need to apply for a temporary visa to enter the UK.
Assistance
Persons can recover their UKVI account if they cannot sign in because they have lost access to their phone or changed email address. They can report an error with their eVisa if they cannot view it when they sign in to their UKVI account.
Please note that persons may talk to UKVI using webchat if they have other questions about their eVisa, UKVI account or sharing their immigration status. They should also note that they can also watch eVisa support videos.
Just for completeness it should be noted that If the carrier cannot check the eVisa then the passport holder should ask the carrier to contact the UK Border Force carrier support hub for help.
I hope this helps.
