St Andrew truck driver shot dead at home

A 24-year-old truck driver was shot and killed at his home in Lawrence Tavern, St Andrew, last night. 

He has been identified as Carl Brown from Park Road in the community. 

Reports are that about 11:40 p.m., Brown was repairing a motorcycle on the premises when he was attacked by a gunman.

The assailant reportedly opened fire, hitting Brown before fleeing the area.

Brown was rushed to the Kingston Public Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

A motive has not yet been established.

The Constant Spring Criminal Investigations Branch is leading the probe into the killing, which falls under the St Andrew North police division.

The St Andrew North police division has recorded three murders up to May 31, representing an 81 per cent reduction in violent deaths year-on-year, police figures show.
