A father and son were found shot dead with their hands bound at a house in New Forest, Manchester, early Friday morning, the police say.

Reports are that about 12:15 a.m., residents heard explosions and alerted the police.

Upon arrival, officers discovered the two men suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

The son is said to be an aspiring recording artiste known by the alias ‘Fido’.

The given names of both men have not been confirmed up to publication time.

The killings have heightened concerns about violent crime in the Manchester Police Division, which recorded a 75 per cent increase in murders up to May 31 this year.

Police statistics show that 14 murders were under investigation in the division, compared with eight during the similar period last year.
