Champs 2022 | Edwin Allen's Dwyer says goodbye to Champs with 800m win

Edwin Allen High School's Rushana Dwyer closed out her Champs career in style, when she won the Class One Girls 800m at the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls' Athletics Championships (Champs) at the National Stadium on Saturday.
Dwyer led home an Edwin Allen one-two to win the event in 2:08.36 minutes ahead of Jessica McLean (2:09.23), while third went to Jodyann Mitchell of Holmwood (2:10.33).
Edwin Allen's Rickeisha Simms won her second gold medal Champs by winning the Class Two 800m in 2:08.52. Kitania Headley of St Catherine took the silver in 2:08.98 while Cindy Rose from Holmwood took home the bronze in 2:10.80.
Holmwood's Andrene Peart led from start to finish to win the gold medal in Class three in 800m in 2:12.97.
Edwin Allen's Kora Barnett got the silver with a time of 2:13.67 while Kededra Coombs of St Jago High School took the bronze medal with a time of 2:15.27.
