KINGSTOWN (CMC):

Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves left here on Wednesday for Cuba where he will participate in the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA) summit, according to a government statement.

It said that Gonsalves will also participate in a series of bilateral meetings.

“There will also be activities to commemorate the 30th anniversary of diplomatic ties between St Vincent and the Grenadines and Cuba,” the statement said, noting that the two countries had established diplomatic relations on May 26, 1992.

The statement said that Gonsalves is leading a five-member delegation that includes his wife, Eloise Gonsalves, and Education Minister Curtis King.

Last month, Gonsalves spent 10 days in Venezuela, where he underwent medical treatment and held talks with President Nicolas Maduro.
