2009 Digicel Premier League launched today

The country’s top football competition, the Digicel Premier League, will have a sponsorship package of over $84 million for the 2009 to 2010 season.



The announcement was made this afternoon during the launch at the offices of the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) in New Kingston.



Of the total sponsorship package, title sponsors Digicel has pumped in $49.5 million.



The new season kicks off on Sunday with all 12 teams in action.



Defending champions Tivoli Gardens will start their campaign against newcomers Humble Lions at the Edward Seaga Sporting Complex, starting at 5 p.m.
