The Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) is moving to reduce loitering among students at the Half Way Tree Transport centre.

Managers at the facility said they would be enforcing a one-hour ticketing policy.

Marketing and Sales Manager at the JUTC, Lenworth Simms explains that the buses on most routes operate at one-hour intervals.

He said tickets bought for those routes would only be valid for one hour after purchase.

Since the opening of the centre, it has been reported that students have been using the facility as a hangout spot.

General Manager at the centre, Victor Green, said he met recently with student body representatives from several high schools in the Corporate Area in a bid to curtail the problems of loitering and indiscipline.
