Zacca appointed adviser to OPM
Christopher Zacca, the immediate past president of the Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica (PSOJ) has been appointed an adviser to the Office of the Prime Minister.
The Gleaner Power 106 News has learnt that Mr. Zacca began working last Friday.
When contacted Mr. Zacca refused to confirm news of the appointment, stating that it would not be appropriate for him to comment before the prime minister on the matter.
Zacca left his post as deputy chairman of Gordon ‘Butch’ Stewart’s ATL Group of Companies at the end of September after an 18-year stint at the organization.
At the time of his departure, it was stated in a release that Zacca had left the company to pursue his own business interests.
Zacca’s appointment is the second high-profile recruitment from the private sector by the Golding administration since the Jamaica Labour Party came to power in 2007.
Don Wehby, an executive at Grace Kennedy spent two years as a minister without portfolio in the Ministry of Finance and the Public Service.
