Chapelton Tax Office reopens

Operations are to resume at the Chapelton Tax Office in Clarendon this morning after thieves broke into the building yesterday.



Acting Director of Communication at the Tax Department Meris Haughton said preliminary investigations by the police revealed that no equipment of high value was removed from the office.



Ms Haughton said personnel will today conduct investigations to determine if the office’s records are still intact.



She said its not clear if the thieves had targeted files in the tax office.



Meanwhile the police are yet to determine a motive for the burglary.
