The Jamaica Manufacturers Association (JMA) wants the government to immediately remove the custom fees applied to manufacturing equipment and raw materials being imported.
JMA president, Omar Azan, said the imposition of the custom fees makes Jamaican manufacturers uncompetitive compared with other markets.
Mr. Azan said consumers are also being affected because they have to pay more for certain products.
He is also suggesting that the government work with the JMA, to increase employment opportunities, and to improve the economy.
