Trough to bring heavy rains to central and western parishes

Residents of central and western parishes are being warned by the Meteorological Service of Jamaica to brace for increased rainfall starting this afternoon through to Saturday.

In a statement, the agency says the weather is being influenced by a persistent Trough across Jamaica and the central Caribbean.

It says over the period persons can expect periods of showers and thunderstorms which may be heavy at times.

The Meteorological Service says it will continue to monitor the situation.
