Dancehall entertainer Vybz Kartel and his Adidja Palmer Foundation today carried out a Hurricane Melissa relief mission in western Jamaica.

The entertainer returned to the island earlier this week after promising fans and fellow Jamaicans that he would join efforts to help those affected by the Category 5 storm.

Kartel has been using his online platform to endorse the work of players in the entertainment industry and has called for others to get on board.

His relief mission visited sections of St James, Westmoreland, and Hanover, where care packages were distributed.

While in St James, he and his team received a tour of the World Central Kitchen worksite at the Montego Bay Convention Centre.

The volunteer group has been cooking and serving meals to persons in parishes affected by the hurricane.

Kartel indicated that he is prepared to continue providing support to victims of the hurricane.
