Portugal, Colombia await Reggae Boyz if World Cup spot is secured
Should the Reggae Boyz qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, they will contest Group K of the tournament, which includes Portugal, Uzbekistan and Colombia.
Despite missing out on automatic qualification last month, Jamaica has a second chance of making it to the showpiece event if the team successfully navigates the intercontinental playoffs set for March next year.
The Boyz have been drawn in playoff bracket one, where they will face New Caledonia in their first game, to book a potentially decisive game Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The winner of Jamaica’s bracket will contest Group K in the World Cup, where they will be joined by European giant Portugal, debutant Uzbekistan and rising South American powerhouse Colombia.
Jamaica is seeking to qualify for the island’s second-ever World Cup appearance, having made there debut in 1998.
The World Cup will be contested in Canada, the United States and Mexico.
The opening match will see South Africa going up against Mexico.
