St Mary fisherman charged over gun seizure

A 34-year-old fisherman of Paggee district, Port Maria, St Mary, has been charged in connection with the seizure of a gun in his community on Saturday.

The accused, Donnadoni McDonald, was charged with possession of a prohibited weapon following a police operation.

According to reports from the Port Maria Police, officers visited an address in the area about 6 a.m. During a search of the premises, the police reportedly found a container holding several .77 calibre BB 45mm pellets along with three spent casings.

Police further reported that McDonald subsequently led members of the operation to a BB gun that had been hidden in the fence of his yard.

The weapon and ammunition were seized, and McDonald was taken into custody.

McDonald was formally charged on Tuesday.
