Commencing today, the section of Olivier Road, between Constant Spring Road and Norbrook Road, will be reduced to single lane to facilitate repairs to the roadway.

The National Works Agency (NWA) says the worn asphaltic concrete surface is to be replaced and repairs done to a defective manhole.

The NWA added that the targeted section of road will also be fitted with road markings.

The repair work is expected to be completed on Monday.

NWA Manager, Communication and Customer Services Stephen Shaw says that the project is being undertaken at a cost of some $19.5 million and forms part of the agency’s thrust to improve the state of corridors in Kingston and St Andrew.

During the period of the works, motorists are being advised to use the alternative route from Norbrook Road to Norbrook Drive to access the Manor Park area.

The reverse obtains for persons who wish to access areas such as Shortwood or Cherry Gardens from the direction of Manor Park.

Motorists are being advised to exercise caution while the works are ongoing and to obey the instructions of flag-persons and warning signs.
