BOOT Jamaica, an operator of integrated fuel and retail developments, has been named Business of the Year by the St Ann Chamber of Commerce.

Accepting the award on behalf of the company were its founder and executive director, Wayne Boothe, and its chief operating officer, Alexcia Boothe, marking what both described as a significant milestone in BOOT Jamaica’s growth and expansion.

The company emerged from a competitive field that included Pure Chocolate Jamaica and the Jamaica Public Service Company. Judges cited BOOT Jamaica’s ambitious expansion strategy as a decisive factor, pointing in particular to the groundbreaking of its BOOT 2 development in September 2025, a project widely seen as reshaping the company’s operational footprint and long-term prospects.

The annual awards ceremony recognises excellence in business performance and contributions to economic development within the parish. This year, 12 awards were conferred across a range of categories, including social responsibility and community impact, education excellence and Small Business of the Year. Business of the Year is regarded as the highest distinction.

Beyond commercial performance, the ceremony also highlighted community resilience and civic leadership. Custos of St Ann Joseph Issa commended the custos commandos for their role in strengthening emergency response systems across the parish.

Within that effort, BOOT Jamaica’s chief operating officer, Alexcia Boothe, was singled out for her leadership in advancing a parish-wide shelter support initiative. The programme distributed 2,000 sleeping bags and soup kits and supported critical upgrades to shelter infrastructure, improving access to reliable power and enhancing response capacity in the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa.

Speaking after the presentation, Wayne Boothe framed the award as both recognition and inflection point for the company.

“This award comes at a defining moment for BOOT Jamaica. As we expand through developments such as BOOT 2 and planned growth in parishes, including St James and Trelawny, we are reimagining what convenience and service look like across Jamaica. We are honoured by this recognition and remain committed to sustained investment, innovation, and excellence in St Ann and beyond,” he said.

Boothe also acknowledged the role of staff, partners and customers in the company’s rise, reiterating BOOT Jamaica’s pledge to deliver consistent service while contributing to economic growth and community development across the island.

BOOT Jamaica is a family-owned company that operates mixed-use fuel and retail developments, including supermarkets and pharmacies, and has expanded across the island since opening in Ocho Rios.
