The police in Manchester have charged five people with murder following the killing of a man who was allegedly attacked after a dispute in his community.

Dead is 31-year-old Otis Moore, an electrician of West Road in Cobbla in the parish.

Charged are 32-year-old Gorald Housen, otherwise called ‘Azzy,’ an electrician; 23-year-old Shemar Brown, otherwise called ‘Tar’; 32-year-old Romania Christie, otherwise called ‘Maro’; 33-year-old Ricardo Dewdney, otherwise called ‘Mice’; and 36-year-old Arianne Housen, otherwise called ‘Shantel,’ all labourers of Village district, Manchester.

Reports from the Mandeville police are that about 8:45 p.m. on Wednesday, April 8, Moore and Gorald Housen were involved in a dispute that escalated into a physical altercation.

According to the police, Housen left the scene but later returned with relatives, who were reportedly armed with machetes and knives.

It is alleged that the group attacked Moore, inflicting multiple wounds to his upper body before fleeing the area.

The police were summoned, and Moore was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Following investigations, the five were arrested and later charged on Monday, April 13, after a question-and-answer session.

A date for their court appearance is being finalised.
