Police hunt killer of 70-y-o farmer found with throat slashed in St Catherine

Police in St Catherine are searching for those responsible for the throat-slashing death of a 70-year-old farmer in Point Hill on Friday.
The deceased has been identified as Harold Hanson, otherwise called 'Harry,' from Mendez district in Point Hill.
Police reports are that about 4:30 p.m. Friday Hanson went to his farm and did not return, and attempts to contact him failed.
Relatives and residents who went in search of him found him about 9:30 pm, with his throat slashed.
On arrival, Point Hill police reportedly found Hanson lying on his back in his farm, still clutching a machete, with a wound to his neck.
The scene was processed and the body removed to a funeral home pending a post-mortem examination.
No motive has been established.
The Spanish Town Criminal Investigation Branch is probing the matter.
