Junior investment and commerce minister Delano Seiveright is leading a high-level Jamaican trade and investment mission to Ireland and the United Kingdom aimed at expanding export opportunities and strengthening commercial ties.

The week-long mission is being coordinated by JAMPRO under the Ministry of Industry, Investment and Commerce, alongside the Jamaica Special Economic Zone Authority, with participation from private sector companies across manufacturing, agro-processing, wellness, education services, legal services and technology, a ministry statement said.

The statement said the team has departed the island.

Participating firms include Wisynco Group Limited, Grace Foods UK, Optimity Group, Joan Miller Organics, Hyrie Wellness and One on One Educational Services Limited, among others.

The delegation will attend the Ireland–Latin America & Caribbean Trade Horizons Forum in Dublin on May 13, and the UK-Caribbean Trade and Investment Forum at Lancaster House in London, May 14-15. The team will also undertake investor meetings, site visits and business engagements with senior stakeholders in both countries.

Seiveright, the state minister in the Ministry of Industry, Investment and Commerce, is also scheduled to hold bilateral talks with Ireland’s Minister for Enterprise, Tourism and Employment Peter Burke, and UK Minister of State at the Department for Business and Trade Sir Chris Bryant, along with meetings with business leaders and investors.

The minister said the mission is designed to produce “tangible commercial outcomes” for Jamaican firms while strengthening the country’s positioning in global markets.

“This is a very targeted and content-rich mission involving JAMPRO’s overseas business development efforts, JSEZA’s strategic investment support framework and Jamaican companies engaging directly with investors, distributors, policymakers and potential partners across Ireland and the United Kingdom,” Seiveright said.

He added that the initiative is aimed at “creating opportunities for Jamaican businesses” and strengthening long-term commercial relationships.
