Policeman’s mother killed

The mother of a policeman has been murdered at her home in Monticello, St. Catherine.



According to the police, the body of 45 year old Marlene Greenland was found at her Woos Avenue House, around 6 pm yesterday evening.



Residents reportedly heard a child crying at the woman’s home and went to investigate, when they saw Miss Greenland on the floor with a large wound to her head.



The police said Ms. Greenland might have known her attacker or attackers because her house was still securely locked.



No motive has been established for the killing.



Miss Greenland is the 30th murder victim in the St. Catherine North Police Division and the 4th female since the start of the year.
