Runkus aiming to break reggae’s limit barrier
Runkus has been a promising player in Jamaica’s music conversation since his debut trilogy album MOVE:IN, IN:SIDE and OUT:SIDE. But with his new album, SUPERNOVA, the artiste shows no interest in fitting inside any category at all.
Built from more than 170 songs and shaped by visual art exhibitions in Germany, old soul samples, and an obsessive attention to sound design, SUPERNOVA feels less like a conventional reggae project and more like an attempt to stretch the genre’s possibilities outward.

Jamaica Drafts Road Construction Standards as Pothole Crisis Deepens
Jamaica's state standards body has put forward a comprehensive road construction specification for public comment, a move that comes as billions of dollars in government road repair programmes face persistent criticism over the quality and durability of their work.
The Bureau of Standards Jamaica (BSJ) is inviting public comment until July 4 on a draft standard that sets technical requirements for every layer of road construction, from the earthworks beneath a road's surface to the asphalt wearing course that vehicles drive on. The scope of the standard is broad.

Editorial | Guardrails for close-in-age law
The ongoing debate over a close-in-age exception to the Sexual Offences Act warrants open and honest discussions.
The public discourse for an issue that’s sensitive, involving children, consent, criminal justice and protection from abuse, has often drifted toward extremes. The narratives present the matter either as a weakening of child protection laws or as an uncomplicated correction to outdated legislation. Which it’s neither.
