University student Kengu Black, the daughter of prominent Manchester businessman and political activist Skeng Don, whose real name is Kenneth Black, has been charged for the deadly collision along the PJ Patterson Highway in St Catherine in March that claimed the lives of four people, including an eight-year-old boy.
Black, who is of a Mandeville, Manchester address, appeared before the St Catherine Parish Court on Monday on four counts of causing death by dangerous driving, where she was granted $800,000 bail with surety.
The bail application was made by her attorney, Christopher Townsend.
In granting bail, Acting Senior Parish Court Judge Janelle Nelson-Gayle ordered Black to surrender her travel documents and submit her fingerprints to the authorities.
The case is to go back to court on February 6 next year.
Allegations are that minute after midnight on March 30,2025, Black was driving a 2022 model Mercedes SUV along the highway when, upon reaching close to the exit of the highway, the vehicle collided with a Toyota Probox motor car.
It is reported that the motor car had earlier hit the median and overturned.
It is further reported that while exiting the car the occupants were hit by Black.
Those killed in the accident are 22-year-old Tyesha Manhertz, Wendy Lammie, 29, Andre McLeish, 27, and eight-year-old Trey Stewart.
Both vehicles were extensively damaged.
Black was warned for prosecution.
Following an investigation, she was charged with four counts of causing death by dangerous driving.
