The Finance Minister Audley Shaw says the government is considering putting a stop to certain waivers in an effort to reform the country’s tax system.

According to Mr. Shaw Jamaica continues to lose millions of dollars by waiving some payments.

He says the tax system will be reviewed to bring more money into the government’s coffers.

Meanwhile, Mr. Shaw says the Cabinet has approved an enhancement of the Urban Renewal Tax Relief Act.

He says the amendment will offer special incentives for re-investment in Downtown Kingston.
