NSWMA: Child dies in crash involving garbage truck in Mandeville

The NSWMA said details surrounding the circumstances of the collision remain unclear at this time.

The National Solid Waste Management Authority (NSWMA) says a child was killed this morning in a crash involving one of its compactor trucks along Bonitto Crescent in Mandeville, Manchester.

It said details of the accident are "sketchy at this time".

“Our hearts are with the family affected by this unimaginable loss, and we extend our deepest condolences,” the NSWMA said in a statement.

The incident happened around 7 a.m.

The police are on the scene.

The truck is assigned to Southern Parks and Markets (SPM) Waste Management Limited, NSWMA entity that is responsible for garbage collection in Manchester, St Elizabeth and Clarendon.
